Like many places in Japan it just steals your heart! Nara was a place I really enjoyed visiting, the culture is rich and everything is dripping in beauty. The day was a bit cloudy, windy yet refreshing with sunny spells peeping out from the clouds every chance it had. I was surrounded by autumn colours which made exploring a fun game. My leg muscles were in training-mode and I did a lot of walking and climbing up stairs. Nara is very easy to get to from Kobe/Osaka, I had no troubles whatsoever. It is a solid MUST on my recommended list for those who enjoy beautiful scenery, nature, seeing/feeding deers, rich culture and history. You can cover a lot in a day trip, if I were to revisit, I would do a 1-2 night stay in a ryokan so I can melt into happiness.

Before I go again to Nara, here is an overview, thank you Tofu blogger for this, Nara is my favourite city in Japan so far and I can see I am not the only one, it is peaceful, less touristy than Kyoto and still the ancient capital, lots to learn there

Oh, those fall colors… some great pictures! Also, I absolutely agree with you- Nara with a ryokan? That would be heaven!
