Walking around in Nara you’ve probably seen some of these manhole drain covers? I thought it looked very cute and pretty with the flowery design and deer on the side. Being from London, I have never come across something like this before. I’d probably have it for a clock or a piece of wall art but no, it’s for the drains.

Also fascinated with the drain covers in Japan (called drainspotting)! 🙂 I initially thought it was something exclusive in Tokyo but apparently, it is practiced almost everywhere.
