On my way to the reclining buddha in Fukuoka I found a beautiful snow covered footpath that headed up a mountain. Surrounded side by side with red lampposts after the first Torii gate, when I reached half way it was closed off as there were too much snow. It was a little slippery but definitely worth the climb. It felt very magical with the red and white contrasts as if I somehow entered an alternative universe of beauty.

Japan always amazes me with its beauty. I can only imagine it was even more lovely in person!
