Mitsui Garden Hotel Kumamoto (三井ガーデンホテル熊本), The Kuma Room, 2018.
Located only 5 minutes from Karashimacho Station and conviniently plotted in an area where you can walk to the castle grounds in about 10 – 15 minites with plenty of food options around. The customer service was top-notch. The lady who served me was very kind and they are very tourist friendly and spoke good English and Japanese. I booked the Kuma Room!! There is a single room as far as I remember but someone got there before me so I opted for the twin room for the larger space, there is a triple room too. The room was decorated in Kumamoto merchandise, pillows, a big plushy, the bathroom shower curtain and the tea cups! The A4 files and post cards were free gifts complimentry to booking a Kuma room.
During the night I was awoken by a babys crying, it lasted for about 2 hours, apart from that it was quiet throughout my stay. I was very happy to watch Cardcaptor Sakura on TV and the bed was extrmely comfy. In the morning, the breakfast was a Japanese western style buffet with the typical scrambled eggs, meatballs, croquette, salad, makeral, soup etc. Decent and satisfying. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend getting a Kuma Room if you love Kumamon, although a little pricy it is was at the time 16000 Yen a night, but a good experience and would stay again!! Hopefully next time there wouldn’t be children crying.
