You could take the Shinkansen from Kurume Station straight to Hakata and that would be a 15-20 minute journey, however if you’re on a budget or don’t have a JR Pass, just simply take the Kagoshima Line. It’s only 740 Yen one way to Hakata and the journey takes about half an hour. You can take either via towards Shimonoseki / Fukuma / Ebitsu / Kokura / Hakata / Mojiko, it’ll all stop at Hakata with no transfers.
