The Tomita Farm Distillery is the only distillery in Japan that is dedicated to extracting lavender essential oils. I think it was closed when I visited but during the harvest season visitors can watch the process of extraction. So I’m sure it would be a very interesting thing to see. Also, the shops sell lavender oils and distilled lavender water, which are made on farm grounds, so you know you’re getting the fresh-stuff!
