Maybe my pictures don’t look it but it was VERY crowded. Tourists everywhere from all parts of the world. The Edo streets of Takayama were so busy and full of people! The streets are famous for its old wooden houses all lined up left to right. The rain would come and go, the weather wasn’t so good as it was heavily raining in the morning and it was predicted to pour at night. After doing a little exploring around the streets….I stopped at 2 food stores to try Hida-Beef sushi and buns which is very famous in this city.

Seeing as it is so packed with tourists…do you think it is worth going there? I really wanted to see it but I would prefer a quieter place to see these old edo buildings, do you have any other recommendations?

I think it’s a lovely city to visit, maybe go extra early on a weekday. 😂
