The Nebuta Museum Warasse (ねぶたの家 ワ・ラッ)
Located a few mins from the Aomori Station along the waterfront, it was the main place I really wanted to visited to see some awesome NEBUTA!! Aomori is famous for their Nebuta festival which is held each year during early august. Would love to go one day!!
The admission fee is 600 Yen per adult. When I arrived there were a lot of people. The atmosphere inside the museum feels very festive and lively with all the amazing nebuta on display. Nebuta festivals have a 300 year old history. It’s unlike anything I’ve seem before. I love Japan because there’s so much culture and different regions have their own history, culture and unique festivals.
The hall has very dimmed lights to ensure the Nebuta floats are the highlight of your visit as you admire the details and beautiful colours. The history of the displays evolve and change over time and they get bigger and bigger. I am still to this day fascinated by nebuta art…
