Hakodate Gokoku Shrine (函館護国神社)
This shrine is only a few minutes away from the Mt. Hakodate ropeway. And yes…I was going to go up there a little later. My hotel booking came with a free ticket which was pretty cool! So on the way I found some stairs that took me to the Gokoku Shrine, it was built to honour the spirits of the imperial soldiers who died at war.
