This is the Hokkaido Government Office Building aka. The Red Brick Office. It’s best known for the red star symbol on its exterior wall and it definitely stands out in Sapporo. The office was used for about 80 years, it was constructed in 1888 and resembles somewhat of a school or library back home. Near the red brick office is a quiet and lovely pond, it’s sort of a mismatch when you realise that the pond is surrounded by tall and modern buildings.
