I was going through the castle grounds to get to the gardens. It was a very beautiful sight and it’s still in the middle of reconstruction as it was burned down several downs over the centuries, the most recent fire was in 1881. Like many castles in Japan, they have suffered damages through fires or natural disasters e.g. Kumamoto. And Japan had dedicated themselves to rebuild them.
