I took a short stroll around the Takaoka Castle Park. Unfortunately, there was no longer a castle because it was demolished during the early Edo period in 1615. It was a shame that they had to demolish the castle because it only stood a few years after its completion before the new rules were put in place at the time where only 1 castle is permitted in each feudal domain. The park now is a good hanami spot during spring and there’s a lot of interesting statues plotted around the park…Like the sumo wrestling bronze statue hidden in the bush!
