天蛇観音, Tenja Kanon, Goddess of the Heavenly Snake. I found this at the Okinawa World park near the Habu Museum. This statue was erected in 1982 which makes it quite new, only about 38 years old. It may look like a plain statue at first glance.But when you take a closer look…there is a snake and a mongoose-like creature by the side of the Goddess. It’s kinda cute…
